Me, My Family and I

My recent trip to Bombay made me relaise (amongst many other things) that my family really means a lot to me. The forthcoming trip to Dubai, might just be my last one with my parents before either the residency or any other twists and turns in my life takes me away from them.

Hence, I've agreed to accompany my parents to Dubai and it is for this reason I dedicate this trip and the coming months till Diwali next year, to them.

Let the celebrations begin I say!

earlier this year, on my travels abroad, a friend found it quite entertaining to ridicule me for changing the location on my orkut profile to the city i was styaing in at, be it for as short as five days.

my reply- my profile asks for my current location, and that's what i'm indicating. simple!

unlike loads of desis whoa re more than happy to relinquish their desi connections back home once they set out for abroad, i am an exception. perhaps my friend thought i was one of the many he probably knows of. if only he knew. if he would ahve taken some time out, he'd know my hometown still reflects 'karachi', jsut liek it did, the first time i signed into orkut. also, i agree, i was quick to update my profile as far as my current location went. but i was even quicker, and happier to change it to my home town, when i got back.

during my eng gen classes in a levels, i had once said, the older ones friends are- the better 'freinds' theya re. admitted, each phase in life brings about changes in ones character and with it a whole new array of people that one takes ona s friends. and obviously some of my friendships in college are more 'deep't han those simple friendships in junior school where all iw ould do is share my slims with a friend and play hop scotch with them! but going down memory lane, one can't help but realise how corrupted we ourselves have become when it comes to makign friends- doing so for some rhyme or reason, atleast in the inital phase. my earliest friends were so cos it just 'happened'. whereas msot of my latter ones happened cos either i needed help from them, needed someoen to talk to or i was interested [;)] int hem- there was always an 'i' and a 'want' attached- get what i mean?
so here it is to all my friends- the older the better!!!

it's great to know that a friend, in who's life you played an important role, is now married!
